The Whole Life Society at 428 Market Street in New Berlin, PA invites yoga instructors from around the region to a very informative asana alignment workshop being held Saturday, June 24th, 2017.
The instructor will be Mary De Angelis. She is a 500 hour RYT. Mary received her levels one and two Hatha training and Yoga Sutra studies in residence at Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville VA. Mary has practiced and honed her teaching skills at her yoga studio and at various retreat centers over the last 20 years. Currently Mary is the Director of Mount Eden Retreat and Holistic Center in Washington, NJ.

8:00 to 9:00 a.m.
This hour is specifically for the Teacher Training Class of 2016. (Mary and this class of students will share experiences, ask questions, address concerns specific to their experiences instructing a Hatha 1 class and each individual's personal practice). Others attending the workshop arrive at 9 am.
9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Exploration of Alignment in Hatha Postures: We practice asana in order to create an environment of ease in the body so the mind can also dwell in quiet and ease. Aligning the body so that every part is participating in balance with every other part creates a state of ease and integration. When this happens, the asana is meditation.
10:00 to 10:20 a.m.
10:20 to 11:00 a.m.
Brunch Provided. Reading from Swami Satchidananda.
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Fundamental Hip, Shoulder, Chest, Low Back and Opening Exercises. When a student has pain and/ or difficulty with the postures, we can assist by offering exercises to release tightness and make the postures more accessible.
1:00 to 1:15 p.m.
1:15 to 2:00 p.m.
