Sound Healing Meditation with Lama Lobsang Palden

Lama Lobsang Palden is a Tibetan lama, a teacher of Yantra Yoga and Buddhist meditation, and a practitioner of holistic energy medicie. He trained at Tashi Kyil and Kaja To Monasteries in Eastern Tibet.

This two hour "vacation" evokes physical, emotional, and spiritual responses to the vibrations of the gong which work on multiple levels to heal and transform. After Yantra Yoga warm-up and meditation to prepare the mind and body, be embraced by the sound and magical vibrations of singing crystal bowls as they ease you into deep relaxation for an even deeper gong sound experience.

The Results Are In

Due to the generosity of 35 donors, $2,950 was raised during this year's Raise the Region Campaign!

And this is not including the additional money we may receive based on potential matching funds. During the 7:16 pm Minute Challenge,on March 14th, we had 8 people sign-in and contribute $50. We also had 8 folks send in their $100 contributions during the 7:16 pm Minute Challenge on March 15.

We will know our grand total in approximately 20 days when we receive our check from the FCFP Raise the Region

Sun Salutation Fundraiser

It's that time of year again! The Whole Life Society is hosting a morning of Sun Salutations to raise funds. Members, family and friends of the Center are welcomed to join Vani, one of our dedicated instructors, in a Hatha class devoted entirely to a flow of sun salutations. Vani has set a goal of completing 108 salutations and the Center has set a goal of raising $10,008.

To support Vani and the Center, contribute securely via PayPal or contact us to contribute in person.

You may also complete your own set of sun salutations with Vani at this special 9 a.m. Hatha class on Saturday, July 29th. Begin collecting pledges now from your own family and friends to support you in your effort.

Pledge sheets are available in the foyer at the Center.  All proceeds support our ultimate goal of providing a very special place of peace where any individual can explore his/her own pathway to developing an easeful body, a peaceful mind, and a useful life.

~Namaste~

4th of July Silent Auction

The New Berlin 4th of July committee has graciously offered The Whole Life Society a space at the town's Commons along Penns Creek to set up tables for a silent auction during the festivities on the 4th.

We are asking all members and friends of the Center to consider donating an item for the auction. The possibilities are endless! Create a theme basket filled with items related to that theme i.e. Chocolate Lovers, A Trip to the Beach, Gardener's Delight, Pastas Galore, An Artist's Dream, The Man Cave, A Woman's Rare Moment Alone, Sacred Selections for Yogis, Movie Night.

If you own a time share maybe you would be willing to donate a week or weekend at that location. Are you an artisan willing to contribute a piece of your artwork to the cause or maybe someone who would purchase a creation from a local artisan to support his/her work as well as the Center. Maybe a massage at a local spa or a gift certificate to a special restaurant ~ an antique that no longer fits with your decor or an herb planter for those who love to cook. Let your creativity soar!

In the days and weeks ahead we will send out additional suggestions for those who want to contribute but are unsure of what to give. All items should be brought to the Center in advance of the 4th so we can prepare for the actual event. Feel free to contact us for more information or to set up a drop-off time: 570-966-2484

A grateful thank-you in advance to all who choose to participate in this special fundraising opportunity for the Center.

Reiki Cancer Clinic

Lewisburg Reiki Practice and Whole Life Society are working together in service to our community by providing free monthly Reiki sessions to area residents currently in active cancer treatment the first Saturday of each month. Reiki treatment has an excellent and proven track record of supporting cancer warriors with issues of fatigue, overall malaise, nausea, emotional stress and pain. Reiki strengthens the immune system to help the body better cope with the assaults of chemotherapy and radiation.

Reiki treatment is part of Integrative Cancer Care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, NY Presbyterian, Duke Integrative Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Oncology, NY Columbia Presbyterian and some Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

Reiki practitioners who have completed advanced Reiki training through Whole Life Society/ Lewisburg Reiki Practice classes will volunteer each month. The clinic is open the first Saturday of each month. Two appointment times are open: one at 11:30am and the second at 1:00pm. The appointments are for a one hour session and are without charge.

Please call (570) 966-2484 to reserve your spot. Space is limited to 3 people per time slot.

What occurs during a Reiki treatment? Clients are fully clothed for a 60-minute session of gentle 'hands on' placement on the body. Treatment is specific to the needs of cancer patients. Clinic volunteers are Reiki practitioners with extensive classroom and clinical training.
