Lewisburg Reiki Practice and Whole Life Society are working together in service to our community by providing free monthly Reiki sessions to area residents currently in active cancer treatment the first Saturday of each month. Reiki treatment has an excellent and proven track record of supporting cancer warriors with issues of fatigue, overall malaise, nausea, emotional stress and pain. Reiki strengthens the immune system to help the body better cope with the assaults of chemotherapy and radiation.
Reiki treatment is part of Integrative Cancer Care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, NY Presbyterian, Duke Integrative Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Oncology, NY Columbia Presbyterian and some Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Reiki practitioners who have completed advanced Reiki training through Whole Life Society/ Lewisburg Reiki Practice classes will volunteer each month. The clinic is open the first Saturday of each month. Two appointment times are open: one at 11:30am and the second at 1:00pm. The appointments are for a one hour session and are without charge.
Please call (570) 966-2484 to reserve your spot. Space is limited to 3 people per time slot.
What occurs during a Reiki treatment? Clients are fully clothed for a 60-minute session of gentle 'hands on' placement on the body. Treatment is specific to the needs of cancer patients. Clinic volunteers are Reiki practitioners with extensive classroom and clinical training.
